Florist Profile – Nikki Tibbles of Wild at Heart

I thought today you may like to have a peek at some beautiful images from the very talented London-based florist, Nikki Tibbles.

Nikki started her company, Wild at Heart, seventeen years ago and now has two shops in Notting Hill and Pimlico, plus concessions in Harrods and Liberty.

The images above and below are examples of the amazing arrangements Nikki and her team have created for events.

And here are two arrangements available to purchase in her online shop : Vintage Bouquet and Eclectic Bouquet

Here are two more beautiful bouquets from the Flower Gallery on her website:

In March this year, Nikki launched a range of bouquets in partnership with The National Gallery

There are six bouquets in the series, with each one being inspired by paintings by artists such as Leonardo da Vinci and Vincent van Gogh.

Below are images of the Madame Moitessier Flower Bouquet and Leonardo Flower Bouquet.

A few years ago I saw an article in Red magazine where Nikki gave the following great flower arranging advice.  Hope you find it useful too…

  • It’s nice to have vases in groups.  You don’t have to put flowers in all of them, just one or two.  And you could just have one stem in one vase.
  • Buy a vase that is interesting in its own right.  That way, if you don’t have any flowers, you don’t have to hide it in the cupboard.
  • If you’re not too hot on arranging, buy a vase with a narrower neck that you can use for a single stem – it will be much simpler to deal with and still look fantastic.
  • Put flowers with the same-shaped heads together in a vase, like round-headed peonies with roses, or spears of delphiniums with stock.  It makes them easier to work with.
  • Don’t work with more than three different types of flower in one arrangement, because it can look too messy.  And always choose types of flowers that are roughly the same length.
  • Using a mass of one flower is an easy way to make a big statement.
  • Don’t use scented flowers on a dining table as they can overpower the taste of the food.

Wild at Heart not only create arrangements for the home and for gifts, but also for weddings and regular contract flowers for businesses.
