Last month, I visited Evitavonni in Farnham and had the pleasure of meeting their Design Director, Kate Erwich, and Florist Manager, Rebecca Tiller.

Evitavonni is a luxury interior design company which began in 2007 in Chobham. Three years later, it opened its first trade showroom in the prestigious Design Centre Chelsea Harbour.

Then in November 2011, it launched this new showroom in Farnham, together with an in-house florist shop called Flowers by Evitavonni.

Kate said: “Flowers add a finishing touch to a room, so we thought it would be a wonderful idea to include a florist shop in our new retail space.

Open seven days a week, the shop is run as a traditional high street florist.

They create contemporary floral arrangements for the home, gifts, weddings, events and contract work, as well as designs for the showroom itself.

Flowers by Evitavonni also run workshops which in the past have ranged from creating arrangements for Easter, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Christmas and the Jubilee. More courses are planned for the autumn.

Both florists who work in the shop are currently studying for a Level 5 Master Diploma of Professional Floristry at Merrist Wood.  The course takes eighteen months and involves one day a week at college.

I was very impressed by the quality and choice of flowers they had on display. White and green, in particular, appear to be a popular colour palette…

With regards to plans for 2012, Kate said that they’ll be opening a roof garden soon on their third floor roof terrace.

It will boast wonderful views across the Georgian roof tops of Farnham and will feature garden furniture, planters, outdoor lighting, outdoor fabric and outdoor fires.

And on the floristry side, wedding flowers have really taken off this year, so they plan on building on this area of their business.

If you’re in the Farnham area, I highly recommend a visit to the florist shop and the main store.  It’s beautifully designed with stunning furniture and accessories…I was particularly drawn to the eye-catching chandeliers which were on display.

And if you’d like to keep up-to-date with their news, Evitavonni is on Facebook and Twitter.

P.S.  If you were wondering about the origins of the company name (as I did), it’s the word innovative backwards!
