This is the last of my six blog posts covering the weekend that I spent with them.
And above is a stunning image of the completed banqueting room at the hotel.
By Appointment Only Design, as well as creating stunning wedding flowers, also styled the whole event including the table, chair and props hire.
And below is a picture of how the banqueting room looked at the very early stages on that Sunday morning.
There was such a hive of activity from lots of different teams during the day:
- Javier, Tony and the BAOD staff were busy arranging the double domes of roses and hand-tied bouquets on the tables.
- Muzika were setting up the stage, lighting rig and sound system.
- The Savoy staff were steaming the tablecloths, setting out the crockery, cutlery and glassware.
The banqueting room was so magical with a palette of pale blue, white and gold. And with its intricate plasterwork and stunning crystal chandeliers, it reminded me of a palace…
Watching Javier and Tony at work was like watching two gentlemen conducting an orchestra. They were both so calm and nothing seemed to faze them in the slightest. And their attention to detail was absolutely astonishing!
What amazed me was that whilst everything was going on, Javier even found time to meet and greet future clients and their families who had come to see the room set out.
Feast your eyes now on yet more of photographer Catherine Mead‘s stunning photos below and watch how the room was transformed!
I will never look at pictures of large scale events again in the same light. I now understand how much time, effort and hard work goes into creating such a magical atmosphere.
And I feel very privileged to have been a ‘fly on the wall’. It really was like being in another world witnessing the banqueting room being transformed.
Thank you SO much to Javier and Tony for inviting me to shadow them. Many thanks also to their wonderful staff and to the lovely Catherine for all her photography hints and tips too.
I will certainly hold that weekend back in December very fondly in my memory for a long time to come…
Here is a stunning video featuring this very special wedding day…
