Flowerona Reflects: blooms & bloggers

It’s so lovely to finally feel that spring is here with the temperature starting to rise a little in the UK.

Here’s what I’ve been up to this week…including buying these new (and very budget friendly) spring blooms to brighten up my desk. They smell absolutely beautiful…

My week

Monday, Wednesday & Thursday

Mainly stay-at-home days…writing blog posts for Flowerona plus guest blog posts, editing images and using social media (Twitter & Facebook).

Tuesday

On Tuesday evening, I travelled into London for a ‘Making your blog work for you’ event organised by Made.com.

It was a really great event with guest speakers Daniel Nelson from Heart Home magazine and Vivien Man from Affiliate Window.  They gave us lots of advice on how to monetise our blogs.

And it was lovely to catch up with fellow bloggers Carole from Dear Designer, Jo from Stylist’s Own, Zoe from My Interior Stylist and Kelly from Light Color Design. Plus meet Juliet from Creative Salvage.

Friday

On Friday, I went to a Press Evening to celebrate the launch of A Most Curious Wedding Fair.

It was lovely to meet some of the florists who are taking part in the event :

The fair is taking place this weekend at The Truman Brewery, Loading Bay Gallery, 91 Brick Lane, London, E1 6QL.

If you’re a bride-to-be, why not pop along? You’ll see some stunning floral arrangements created by the florists there, including this amazing design by Dora Kovacs.

And there are also wedding dresses, photographers, wedding stationery designers and cake designers.

I couldn’t resist capturing this wonderful flower adorned cake made by Katie at Pomp de Franc.  Isn’t it just so pretty?

My blog posts this week on Flowerona were :

The most popular blog post this week was ‘Flowerona Links: With peonies, ferns & volts…’

Guest blog post

On the New Covent Garden Flower Market blog, I wrote a guest post showcasing one of my very favourite flowers, the ranunculus.

Do pop over and have a read and you’ll see pictures of all the different varieties of this stunning bloom.

So, that’s a round-up of my week.  I hope you have a lovely Saturday and I’ll be back tomorrow with lots of flowery links.

The Curious Wedding Fair looks very interesting and I see there are some cake decorators exhibiting there that I do not yet know about – so thanks for the link Rona!
I used to work with Paula Rooney! She is one of the happiest and most talented florists that I know – and has sunshine in her heart and soul – a winning combination for any bride.
