Guildford Cathedral Flower Gala 2013 – Floral Design by Neill Strain

At last week’s Guildford Cathedral Flower Gala, there was this stunning floral design below, created by Neill Strain.

The metal structure is actually a large votive candle stand.

And Neill had adorned it with dahlias, anthuriums, gloriosa lilies, kniphofia, guzmania, copper beech, grevillea and twigs.

Isn’t it amazing?

It certainly got a lot of attention from the visitors and was a real talking point in the cathedral.

For me, the beautiful red and orange colour palette, with pops of cerise pink and yellow, evoked memories of Halloween and autumn…
