Selina Lake’s Handmade & Vintage Summer Fete 2013
I hope you had a lovely weekend…
On Saturday, I went to Selina Lake‘s Handmade & Vintage Summer Fete in Kingston-upon-Thames. And what a lovely way it was to spend an afternoon!
This was the second fete that Selina had organised…the first one took place in March for the launch of her new book, ‘Pretty Pastel Style’.
At the event on Saturday, there were wonderful stalls on both floors of Market House (pictured below on the right).
Here’s an image of Selina, who was signing books at the fete.
And here are images of a few of the stalls…
Fiona Humberstone – Elsie & Violet
It was so lovely to see Fiona Humberstone and her new baby Poppy who, aptly, seemed totally entranced by all the beautiful flowers on her mum’s stall.
As well as home-grown blooms, Fiona was also selling vintage crockery, floral earrings and hair slides, plus planted-up house leeks.
Vicky Trainor – The Vintage Drawer
It was great too to catch up with Vicky Trainor, who was selling these gorgeous floral hoops, cushions and door signs.
Wild Willow Flowers
And it was lovely to see Laura from Wild Willow Flowers. She had a stunning selection of blooms for sale in pastel shades, including delphiniums, peonies and scabious.
I’ve not come across Priscilla Jones‘s work before and I was smitten by her designs, especially her flower sculptures!
It was great to meet Carolyn from Simply Roses too…the aroma of the flowers coming from her stall was intoxicating!
This is just a snapshot of some of the stalls at Selina’s fete.
There were lots more and I’m planning on featuring images from one particular stall in the coming weeks, together with an interview with the very talented lady behind the company.
I had such a wonderful time and it was great to meet up with lots of familiar faces, and meet some new people too.
The whole event was so well organised with such an eclectic range of creative small businesses.
If Selina decides to organise another fete in the future, I highly recommend that you visit it too…
