Fond memories of our summer holiday in Devon…

I hope you had a lovely weekend…

Late on Saturday evening, we returned from our summer holiday in Devon.

And today, I thought I’d share with you just a few photos from our time there…some were taken on my camera and some on my iPhone.

On the beach…

We rented a cottage in Salcombe, which is a small seaside town on the South Devon coast.

The weather was very kind to us and every day we spent time on the beach…relaxing in the sun, catching up with friends, reading and snoozing.

Visit to South Pool…

One morning, we went by boat to the nearby village of South Pool…

Walk to Gara Rock…

And on a day which started off cloudy, we went for a lovely walk with friends to Gara Rock.

The path started in woodland and then took us along the coast…

Floral highlights…

Of course, I had to capture some flowers whilst I was out and about.

There were masses of beautiful hydrangeas, billowing over garden hedges into the country lanes.

Plus walls adorned with Mexican daisies, also known as Erigeron karvinskianus.

Around the harbour…

Lots of the houses are painted in different pastel shades, not only by the harbour, but also in the centre of the town.

And I love the South Sands ferry, with its red, white and blue bunting.

Favourite part of the day…

From 5pm-6.30pmish is my favourite part of the day on the beach.  The heat from the sun is waning and there’s a lovely calmness…

Well, that’s where I’ve been and what I’ve been up to over the last week or so.

There was still a daily blog post from Flowerona, as I’d scheduled everything (including Twitter and Facebook).

Thank you very much for all your comments on my blog and via social media whilst I’ve been away.

Sorry that I’ve not replied yet, but I decided to have a complete digital detox, so that I could really switch off.  I’m planning on making a start on everything over the next few days…

I so enjoyed my time in Devon and meeting up with my family whilst I was there too.

Now, I’m refreshed and looking forward to the coming months.  Can’t quite believe that it’s September already though!
