The Brand New Flower Market at New Covent Garden Market | The Opening Day

If you watched my Instagram Stories at the beginning of the week, you’ll have seen that I was at New Covent Garden Flower Market in London on Monday morning for the opening day of the brand new Flower Market. There was such a wonderful buzz!

Not only is it SO much lighter inside than the old Flower Market (so, as one florist commented, you can now really see the true colours of the flowers!), but it’s also much easier to navigate around. It looks sooooo swish…and to me it feels more like a retail experience in a shopping mall, than a wholesale market.

The main reason I was there was to take photos for a blog post I was writing for New Covent Garden Flower Market. Do pop over to their website to take a read.

This was the 4am ribbon cutting ceremony, by the youngest trader Luke from Zest Flowers and the oldest trader Dennis from Dennis Edwards Flowers.

And here’s inside…

Doesn’t it look incredible?! C Best, pictured below, has really pulled out all the stops. Their showroom is a sundries hunter’s paradise! Everything is displayed so beautifully.

If you’re a florist and you’ve never been to New Covent Garden Flower Market before, then I highly recommend a visit! They offer free introductory tours and you can book your place here. You’ll find everything you’ll ever need for your business to thrive!

And if you’re located outside of London, did you know that you can have your flowers delivered by Zest Flowers and foliage by Porters Foliage? Just call or email the guys to find out more details.

You really can’t beat a visit in person though. There’s nothing quite like it…the friendly banter from the traders (how they’re always so chirpy having got up at ‘crazy-o-clock’, I’ll never quite get my head around!), the incredible choice of flowers, foliage, plants and sundries, plus the ability to see and feel what you’re buying. And let’s not forget the wonderful selection of British flowers, foliage and plants!

P.S. By the way, there’s still a week left to enter the Flower Market’s British Flowers Week competition!
