It was awarded a Gold Medal and I’m so thrilled for the five florists who created the design!  They are David Ragg, Steve Betts, Natalie Stanyer, Janet Boast and Morgan Nuth.

Interflora is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year and the stand takes inspiration from art, fashion and pop culture over the last ninety years…from the 1920s to the present day, in six individual ‘frames’.

Many congratulations to Adam on winning a Gold Medal for his garden, which is called the Homebase Garden – ‘Sowing the Seeds of Change’ in association with the Alzheimer’s Society.

It’s a modern family garden and has been designed with a small family in mind, providing them with a space to enjoy an everyday connection with their food and with nature.

When I met Adam recently at the Garden Press Event in London, he explained to me that the concept behind the design is ‘harvest and habitat’.

Harvest, in that lots of fruit and vegetables are planted in the garden, and a habitat that encourages wildlife.

I absolutely loved his design, especially the trees laden with blossom and the Iris Sibrica ‘Flight of Butterflies’ and ‘Tropic Night’.

This annual competition is now in its eighth year and it takes place from May 20th-25th.

Many congratulations to the winner this year, which is fashion retailer Rag & Bone.  The beautiful window displays and interior were designed by florist Sarah Brooke.

At the show, Nikki was awarded a Certificate of Commendation for the high quality presentation of her stand…and I can totally understand why.

The bouquets on display were absolutely stunning, shown off to their very best against the neutral grey backdrop.

Today, I’m going to start off with the garden which won the award for ‘Best Show Garden’ and a Gold Medal.

Phil Johnson designed this innovative and sustainable garden, with its amazing studio structure.

He used native Australian plants throughout the design, from kangaroo paw and bottle trees to ferns.

Well, this blog post features images of Rebecca’s amazing installation of flowers on her stand at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

It includes peonies, roses, ranunculus, liatris, gloriosa lilies, delphiniums, lisianthus, sunflowers, celosia and cymbidium orchids.

And yes, the flowers are all supposed to be ‘going over’ and slowly decaying…!

I hope you enjoy browsing through these images which I took yesterday.

It was lovely to meet Kim, who works with Rebecca.  She encouraged everyone who came to the stand to walk in amongst the flowers, which were hung on copper wire.

And she was also kind enough to take the photo of me.

It was so interesting standing near this wonderful floral installation and hearing all the gasps from passer-by…especially the ladies.

Isn’t it just gorgeous?!

Over the last couple of days when I’ve been at Chelsea, people have been asking me what my favourite things are at the show.  Well, Cath’s Artisan Retreat is definitely in my Top 5!

I love the mood board adorned with vintage images of roses, colour swatches and fabrics. Plus the knitted words ‘Coming Up Roses’, the name of her new book, and the turf outside painted with flowers.

Today, I’m featuring Jinny Blom’s Sentebale Forget-Me-Not show garden, sponsored by B&Q.

The garden was designed to help raise awareness of Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso’s charity Sentebale, which aims to help vulnerable children in Lesotho in southern Africa.

Set up in 2006 in memory of their mothers, the name of the charity, Sentebale, means ’forget me not’ in Sesotho, the language spoken in Lesotho.

And I’m a huge fan of this dainty plant, which was very much in abundance in the garden.

Jinny said:

‘I came up with the design after looking at images of the landscape of Lesotho and noticing several repetitive motifs that seem to be specific to the country; the striated rock of the mountains, the exquisite terraces built for growing crops, the circular houses with their decorated earthen plaster finishes and the extraordinary blanket designs worn by everyone, man, woman and child, against the cold and rain.’

B&Q is helping Sentebale raise money through the show garden by helping customers re-create Chelsea at home with an exclusive and limited edition, Chelsea Collection.

The collection, which is currently available in all British stores, includes six flowers and plants which are inspired by the garden:
