Looking back over the last 12 months, I’ve often had to pinch myself on how lucky I’ve been…the places I’ve been invited to, the events I’ve attended and the people I’ve met, both in person and on-line. And, of course, winning the Best Wedding Flowers Blog Award was the highlight! None of this would have happened though without Flowerona. Here are some of my highlights from 2013…
January – Starting to write monthly reports for New Covent Garden Flower Market.
February – Attending the Floriculture exhibition at The Garden Museum
March – Attending Selina Lake’s Book Launch & Fair.
April – Attending the Hayford & Rhodes website launch party.
May – Visiting the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
June – Interviewing Shane Connolly at Heal’s.
July – Visiting the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.
August – Visiting the Tallulah Rose Flower School in Bath to train the students on ‘Social Media for Florists’.
September – Attending the McQueens website launch party.
October – Winning the Best Wedding Flowers Blog Award at The Ritz.
November – Visiting Holland to attend trade fairs and visit the Aalsmeer Flower Auction.
December – Attending the Press Preview of Philippa Craddock’s new online collection at Selfridges.
I often remember the words of Holly Becker from Decor8 : ‘Use your blog as a catalyst to live your best life’. Writing Flowerona has opened up some amazing flowery avenues for me…and I’m truly grateful.
Of course, there have been challenges and sacrifices along the way. My goodness…I’ve never worked so hard in my life! Daily 6.30am starts to 10.00pm finishes and working at the weekend are regular occurrences. And I’m constantly juggling Flowerona and my personal life. I’ve realised that there will never be enough hours in the day to do everything that I want to do..I simply need to prioritise (easier said than done sometimes!)
In 2014, I really want to take Flowerona up a notch and have lots of very exciting plans which I’ll share with you throughout the course of the year. Thank you so much for accompanying me on my journey so far, for reading my blog and for your comments and feedback over the last 12 months. I’m very much looking forward to 2014!
