In ‘Flowerona-land’, everything and everyone is lovely! And I always aim for my blog to be an inspirational happy place for people to escape to…
But sometimes, there are little hiccups. And this was how my Monday morning started…
Three things happened (yes, why do they always come in threes?).
Two were Flowerona-related and I won’t go into the details…but let’s just say that a couple of people upset me with their actions.
Then, to cap it all off, I fell up the stairs…with my bowl of porridge in one hand and cup of tea in the other. Fortunately, there was only minor tea spillage and my shoulder stopped my fall.
So why am I sharing all of this with you?
Well, I thought you might like to read the remedies I use when my day isn’t going well…in the hope that they may help you too.
1. Call/email a dear friend and let off steam.
2. Do some exercise…go for a walk/run, visit your gym or do an exercise class.
3. Eat some delicious chocolate, like Green & Blacks Butterscotch!
4. Put on some happy music.
5. Light a scented candle.
6. Meditate for 15 minutes.
7. Put on your make-up. (When you work from home, it’s very easy not to bother.)
8. Buy some flowers.
By the end of today, I’ll have done pretty much all of the above. And I feel so much better!
What are your remedies for cheering yourself up?
Please do let me know by filling in the box below. I’d love to know…

When I’m having a bad day, I read through some of the thank you cards I’ve collected over the years, reminding me of all the people I’ve made happy and made a difference to. It’s quite humbling, but it leaves me with a warm glow and ready to grit my teeth and get on with things!
Thank you very much Lisa. That sounds such a lovely idea! I’ve something similar…a folder of ‘Happy Emails’ which I’ve received from people…so I’ll read those too in future.
Hope you have a great week! 🙂
Best wishes
Rona x
When I’m having a bad day I go into the garden, commune with the flowers and attack a large job to keep me occupied and stop me thinking! It seems to work… otherwise I find a nice glass of wine helps!
Thank you so much Ann for your comment! Distraction is a great remedy, isn’t it? Oh…and a lovely glass of chilled white wine :-).
Definitely just stop and go in the garden and stare at the flowers! Then have a cup of tea and a slice of cake x
