The company hand-make a range of potpourri, garlands, fine home fragrances and other interior furnishings.
It was the gorgeous scent of cinnamon from their Christmas range which caught my attention, but they also make beautiful designs from roses and lavender, a selection of which are featured in today’s post…plus a gorgeous door wreath.
The founder of Pollyfields, Fiona Jackson, very kindly answered a few questions for me:
When did you start your business and where are you based?
We started in August 1999 and are based in North Devon.
Where do you get your inspiration for your floral designs?
Nature is my biggest inspiration. Here in Devon, we’re surrounded by the most amazing flora and fauna across the landscape, this is not only beautiful to look at but helps support a diverse range of wildlife.
As the seasons change so do the colours and smells of our surroundings, each is so different that there is always something new to take inspiration from.
What are your plans for the remainder of 2011?
We have an extremely hectic schedule and time is spent between overseeing the handmaking of our products in Devon to exhibiting at a variety of fairs across the UK.
So staying sane and handmaking as much glorious pot pourri as possible is my mission for the remainder of the year.
Do you have a favourite flower?
I adore roses, there are so many beautiful varieties with different shaped blooms and scents.
