In this week’s Wedding Wednesday blog post, I’m delighted to feature florist Zita Elze’s breath-taking floral designs at a recent Wedding Showcase at the Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire.
The beautiful bridal bouquets, posies and table flowers included ranunculus, scabious seed heads, astrantia, waxflower, statice, poppy seed heads, spray roses and amaranthus ‘Desert Yearning’.
Zita said: ‘I was very happy to make the most of the Four Seasons’ natural light and loved building a feeling of anticipation for my potential couple with the two candle-lit avenues leading in and out of the octagonal room.
I’d already designed for a wedding at the venue, so I was keen to use the central space in a fresh way…this time with trees to create a sculptural feel.
Then I added softness with the layers of white, ivory and nude tones using very pretty, delicate quite detailed flower arrangements on the table and combined this with the transparency of the glass chandelier and the floating garlands of skeleton leaves hanging from the tree branches. At the base of the trees, I made little pools of fine sand also layered with skeleton leaves to keep it all very light.
I wanted to create a serene space, somewhere reflective and also fairytale-like, capturing that special wedding mood as the bride and groom move towards the ceremony itself.’
