I was delighted to recently receive a review copy of ‘Bella Bouquets‘, a new book by US-based florist Alicia Schwede.
Alicia and I initially made contact via Twitter, as I’ve often tweeted about the blog she founded called Flirty Fleurs.
When I asked her what prompted her to write ‘Bella Bouquets’, she replied:
‘I’ve wanted to write a book for quite a while. It was deciding on the subject that was hard.
I decided that weddings always start with planning the bridal bouquet and take the feel from it to design the rest of the wedding.
So, I designed this book with floral designers & wedding planners in mind and anyone else looking for floral inspiration!
Many of my bouquets are designed using the current hot flowers – garden roses, craspedia, fern fronds, succulents & more.’
The book features over 100 bridal bouquets, grouped in chapters of colours, ranging from pink, blue and purple to red, burgundy and mixed.
It’s a great book for a bride-to-be or a florist looking for wedding flowers inspiration.
Here are just a small selection of the beautiful bouquets featured…
As for a little bit more information about Alicia…
Since 2003, she has run her own florist shop called Bella Fiori in Denver, Colorado. The shop is her outlet for her love of flowers…which she gained as a young child working alongside her grandmother in the rose garden.
