Today, I’m really thrilled to feature Peggy Porschen’s new book, ‘Cakes in Bloom’! I recently received a review copy and whilst reading it I was completely blown away by the truly exquisite sugarcraft flowers, which Peggy has created. In the book, she reveals her secrets to making more than 30 gorgeous life-like blooms, from roses, peonies and pansies to cherry blossom, orchids and poppies. And 24 cakes are featured including miniature cakes, large cakes and tiered cakes. Here is just a small selection…
Incredible, aren’t they?! Not only will you find step-by-step instructions with photos of how to make the flowers, but also details of basic tool kit, cutter care and specialist tools. Plus recipes for Rich Dark Chocolate Cake (yum!), Victoria Sponge and Luxury Fruit Cake.
So, if you’re looking for inspiration for making a flower-adorned cake for a special occasion, like a birthday, wedding or anniversary or an afternoon tea, then I highly recommend ‘Cakes in Bloom’. The book would equally make a fabulous present for someone who loves baking…
If you’d like to find out more about Peggy, do pop over to the Peggy Porschen website. And to keep up-to-date with news about her company, here are the social media links – Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+.
P.S. I’ve not yet been to the Peggy Porschen Parlour in London’s Belgravia, but will definitely be putting it on my list of places to visit…asap!
