Today, I’m thrilled to feature Sarah Raven’s new book called Sarah Raven’s Cutting Garden Journal. I recently received a review copy and have really enjoyed reading it. Month by month, Sarah shares which plants you should be growing, how you should be caring for them and how you should be using them in your cut flower displays.
There’s also advice on how to plan a cutting garden, fact sheets on individual flowers and foliage, flower arranging projects, how to take cuttings, plus lots more. Here are a few of the beautiful arrangements featured in the book…
Also included each month are 2-4 journal pages where you can write notes, plus three bespoke planting plans for a large cutting garden, a smaller cutting patch and within a mixed border. Sarah really has covered all the bases to make it easy and straightforward for you to be able to grow an abundance of blooms. And the book is the perfect gift (or Christmas present!) for someone who loves growing and harvesting their own cut flowers to arrange in their home. It’s available now from all good book shops and online.
Don’t forget to visit the newly revamped Sarah Raven website, where you can buy seeds, plants and floristry kit. And if you’d like to follow Sarah on social media, you can find her on Facebook and Twitter.

This is indeed a beautiful book, but I think it’s worth pointing out that it is (in Sarah’s words) “a month-by-month journal format of my first ever book, The Cutting Garden, published nearly twenty years ago.” In other words if you have Sarah’s original book the majority of the information contained is the same. However, the journal format works well and as with everything Sarah publishes is beautiful to read and own.
