I was delighted to recently receive a review copy of Style Me Pretty Weddings, a new book by Abby Larson.
Some of you may have already heard of the highly inspirational American wedding blog called Style Me Pretty.
Well, Abby is the lady who founded Style Me Pretty back in 2007. And it now has 1 million unique visitors and 13 million page views per month.
These amazing statistics do not surprise me in the slightest…
Featuring over five thousand real weddings to date, Style Me Pretty is my ‘go to’ place whenever I’m looking for beautiful images of new trends, especially relating to wedding flowers.
It’s all the weddings on her blog that have inspired Abby to write Style Me Pretty Weddings, which is her first book.
She says in the Introduction : “My hope is that this book will become your inspiration bible, that through the pages and pages, chapters upon chapters of pretty, you will find that moment or that detail that will inspire your day.
And I hope it will give you the confidence to design a wedding that is not only a hold-the-phone stunner but also one that is meaningful, filled with love, and a complete reflection of who you are as a couple.”
The book is split into eight main sections:
- The Anatomy of a Bespoke Wedding
- Real Weddings
- – Classic
- – Modern
- – Rustic
- – Whimsical
- – Al Fresco
- Do It Yourself Projects
In each section about real weddings, e.g. Rustic, 3-4 weddings are featured. And with each one there are beautiful images, plus advice and details about special touches.
Then at the end of each of these sections, there is a ‘Blueprint’ with inspiration for your tablescape, florals, cake and paper goods…all with yet more stunning photographs.
The final chapter in the book features fifteen Do It Yourself Projects ranging from how to make a ‘Crepe Paper Cupcake Pom’ to ‘Glittered Vases’.
Below is a special preview of some of the pages in the book:
I love Abby’s descriptive writing style and what also really appeals to me is how the whole premise of the book is to inspire you to create your very own special bespoke wedding.
So, for brides-to-be, this really is a ‘must-have’ book. I just wish it had been available when I got married over ten years ago!
I would also recommend it as a source of inspiration for anyone connected to the wedding industry…florist, wedding planner or cake designer.
Style Me Pretty Weddings is already available in America and will be released in the UK on January 20th.
