British Flowers Week 2021, a campaign run by New Covent Garden Market, is taking place next month from Monday 14th June until Sunday 20th June. The week-long festivities celebrate the beauty and variety of British flowers, foliage and plants, as well as florists, growers and wholesalers.
As in previous years, the Garden Museum in London will be heavily involved with the campaign. And below you’ll discover some of the events, which will be taking place there.
Thursday, 10th June | 9:00 am – Tuesday, 15th June | 5:00 pm
The theme for this year’s exhibition is ‘Healing’. Florists Cyrill Tronchet, Hazel Gardiner, JamJar Flowers, Simon Lycett and Tattie Rose will be creating original large-scale site-specific floral sculptures in response to this theme. They’ll be using environmentally sustainable methods and no floral foam. And their installations will be on display inside the Garden Museum’s historic Grade 2* listed building. Thursday, 10th June | 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Floral designer Shane Connolly will chair this panel talk with this year’s exhibiting florists, Cyrill Tronchet, Hazel Gardiner, JamJar Flowers, Simon Lycett and Tattie Rose. They will be explaining the inspirations behind their work. Plus they’ll be discussing what might have changed in the flower industry over the past year. And how the nation’s revived solace in nature has renewed the future of floristry. Click here for further details.
