Last month, I attended a Christmas Wreath-Making Workshop run by Liz Inigo Jones of Blue Sky Flowers. I had such a lovely morning and above is the all-foliage design, which I made using berried ivy, box, skimmia, eucalyptus populous and grevillea. Liz is based at New Covent Garden Covent Flower Market in London and after a brief tour of the Market, she demonstrated how to make a wreath.
Moss was bound on to the wreath frame using reel wire…
Then Liz took small bundles of assorted foliage and bound them on to the wreath.
And here’s her finished design below, followed by the wreaths made by the other attendees.
Thank you so much to Liz for inviting me!
If you would like to make your own Christmas wreath, Liz is running workshops next week on December 9th and 10th from 10am-1pm at New Covent Garden Flower Market. The price is £45 per head, which includes a brief tour of the Flower Market, all materials, morning pastries and refreshments. You can choose between making a traditional wreath, which would usually include holly, fir cones, cinnamon and whole oranges, or something more contemporary featuring colourful twigs, baubles, sprayed fir cones, ribbons and birds…almost anything goes! To book your place, please contact Liz at Blue Sky Flowers by email firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone on 07973 601 045.
P.S. Here’s a link to my Flowerona Reflects video, which features footage from the workshop.
