Today, I thought I’d share some photos with you of the designs that they made. So, we’re starting off with a trio of contemporary topiary arrangements.
Hannah and her colleague Charlotte had already made two beautiful designs using bright pink carnations and dark pink chrysanthemums, which you can see above.
During the demo, Hannah showed us how to create the rose dome, from start to finish.
On top of a tall narrow vase, she attached a floral foam sphere, which had been soaked in water. She said to make sure that you drain the sphere for a little while before you start making your design, to let the excess water run out.
She used three pieces of pot tape to secure the sphere to the vase…two in a cross shape and one around the neck.
Then she inserted Amnesia roses, initially following the lines of the pieces of tape, before filling in the gaps.
Here are some close-ups of the finished topiary designs…
They’re so simple, yet so effective, aren’t they?
You could place them on a side table, windowsill or put three down the centre of a table.
I’ll be back soon with Part 2…
