I hope you enjoyed my blog post earlier today which featured Hannah from the Jane Packer team making a hat box design at the recent Country Living Magazine Spring Fair.
This is my last blog post about her demo, which shows Hannah making an arrangement inspired by a Japanese bento box.
First, she filled a shallow dish with slices of soaked floral foam.
Then she made a grid using snake grass and wire. She said that instead of snake grass, you could use pussy willow or twigs.
In three sections in the dish she inserted Vanda orchids and in the other three, she placed tulips.
Alternatively, you could use roses or chrysanthemum blooms.
To cover the floral foam completely, she poured purple sand into the gaps between the flower heads. But you could use small stones or moss.
Hannah said that this simple floral design would make a great table arrangement, as it’s not very tall and people can talk over it.
The Jane Packer Flower School in London runs hour long ‘Experience Jane Packer Workshops’. And one of them is called Asian Highlights where you can actually make a bento box design.
If you’d like to see my other blog posts from Hannah’s demo, here are the links : Part 1, Part 2 & Part 3.
I think all the arrangements are stunning, but I particularly love the designs featured in Part 1…a wonderful combination of colours and textures.
Which is your favourite?
