Dyed flowers such as anemones and tulips have certainly been causing a stir this year on Instagram! Personally I’m not usually fond of ‘Toppings’ as they’re called like chocolate, frostwax, sugar, marshmallow, satin, glitter, pearl and snow.
However even though I’m a huge fan of the natural look, dare I admit to being mesmerised by some of the tastefully dyed anemones and tulips? If you’re wondering what I’m talking about, check out these Anemone Brownies and Tulip Brownies from VIP Roses.
It’s very likely that these artificially altered blooms will divide opinion in the floristry industry. They’re already appearing on florists’ Instagram accounts in the US and Canada. So I plan to keep a look-out at New Covent Garden Flower Market on Monday morning to see if they’ve reached British shores yet.
(Just to clarify, this image above relates to the first link below and doesn’t feature dyed flowers.)

FLOWERONA’S WEEK
Well, it’s been a little bit of a challenging (slight understatement!) week on the technology front as you might have seen on my Instagram Stories. But Friday saw a visit from my internet provider and a brand new wi-fi router…so fingers crossed. It certainly has made me more aware of not taking my internet access for granted. The Netgear Powerline which I mentioned last week is (touch wood) still behaving though.
Behind the scenes I’ve been beavering away on two big projects and progress is definitely being made. Before I sign off, many thanks for the messages I’ve received over the last few weeks. I’m so pleased that so many of you are enjoying this weekly blog post featuring a round-up of happenings in the floristry industry!
P.S. Just in case you missed it, here’s a link to my special report about anemones.
