Earlier this month, I was delighted to be invited with a friend to attend a Flower Arranging workshop at Heal’s with Wildabout. You may remember that I ran a competition on Flowerona to win tickets to one of the workshops? Well, as luck would have it, the competition winner, Serena, also came along that evening and it was lovely to meet her. Andy and Leanne from Wildabout had chosen a gorgeous selection of flowers and foliage for us to use to make a hand-tied bouquet. Greenery-wise, there was salal, pistache and variegated pittosporum. The focal flowers were Candy Avalanche roses and they were complemented by white lilac, guelder rose, bouvardia and veronica. Andy started off with a group of mixed foliage. Then he added the flowers and more foliage, turning the bouquet as he worked. You can see photos of how the design developed below…
Andy also showed us how to wrap our bouquet and here is his finished design. I loved all the different textures and flower shapes, plus the colours which were so vibrant and ‘springy’.
It was then our turn. There were complete beginners on the workshop and people with floristry experience. With Andy and Leanne’s wonderful help and advice, we all made our very own hand-tied bouquets. Here’s mine below…
I had such a lovely time! It’s the first evening floristry workshop I’ve been to and I found it so much fun. Thank you very much to Wildabout and Heal’s for inviting my friend and I. To find out about future Heal’s workshops, do visit the Events page on their website or you can email Heal’s at [email protected].
