Attending a Flower Pressing Workshop with JamJar at Thyme last month was such a treat! The workshop started with Amy explaining how to select and prepare flowers for pressing throughout the year. Then she demoed how to place our flowers into the press with care, together with sharing lots of hints and tips.
Amy, India and Scarlet from the JamJar team had collected a wonderful selection of flowers from the Thyme meadows and gardens, which they’d arranged down the centre of the table. So, whilst sipping tea and coffee and sampling delicious homemade chocolate cookies, we set to work choosing the blooms we wanted to press.

Once our flower presses were full, India showed us the delicate process of how to attach pressed flowers to textured paper.

From the huge selection of pressed flowers on display, we then chose some stems to make two floral creations.

Here’s my finished picture frame…

And here’s my mounted flower which I’m also planning on framing.

Thank you so much to JamJar and Thyme for inviting me to the workshop! I had such a wonderful time. If you’re looking for a new creative outlet, I highly recommend taking up this relaxing hobby…
