What a year 2011 has been for my floral-inspired blog, Flowerona, and today, I’d like to share a review with you.
According to Google Analytics, over the last 12 months, the blog has had nearly 50,000 unique visitors from all over the world and over 100,000 page views.
And here’s a list of the top 10 blog posts:
The most popular blog post with over 10,000 page views was the one I wrote about Kate Middleton’s bouquet on the afternoon of her wedding on April 29th, with the image above. And not surprisingly, it received lots of comments…
In January, I wrote a blog post about one of my favourite magazines, Wedding Flowers. Little did I know at the time that I would then go on to have a regular column in it, starting in their July/August issue!
A blog post I wrote back in December 2010 about which flowers Kate Middleton would potentially choose for her wedding…but it proved to be a popular blog post this year too.
Written in February was a blog post about my views on what type of wedding bouquet Kate would choose.
Shortly after Kate and William’s wedding, I wrote this blog post showing how similar Kate’s bouquet and wedding dress were to Grace Kelly’s.
The other big royal wedding of 2011 which took place in July. Again, Zara’s bouquet prompted comments from readers.
In November, news broke that the very talented florist Jane Packer had passed away. I was overwhelmed by the lovely comments on the blog and via Twitter. Jane will be sorely missed…
Written on the morning of the wedding, this blog post highlighted florist Shane Connolly’s trees in Westminster Abbey which certainly proved to be a talking point.
The other famous Kate to get married in 2011…with beautiful wedding flowers.
An article in Wedding Flowers magazine featuring top florists’ predictions of Kate Middleton’s bouquet, with a very firm swing to a white and green colour scheme.
As you can see, blog posts about weddings proved to be the most popular and in particular royal and celebrity weddings!
So, it just leaves me now to thank you for reading Flowerona and for all your kind comments, both on the blog and on Twitter.
I’d like to wish you a very Happy New Year and look forward to seeing what 2012 brings for us all!
