I hope you’ve had a good week. I’m starting off Flowerona reflects today with my favourite image from the last seven days, which I saw on the Flirty Fleurs blog.
Isn’t it absolutely stunning? I’m not sure if I can put my finger on why I love it so much, but I think it’s due to all the different textures and colour combinations.
So, here’s what I’ve been up to this week…
Out & about
Tuesday
On Tuesday, I went to the Top Drawer and Home trade shows at Earls Court in London. Both these events offer retailers the opportunity to source new and established brands for their shops.
I really liked the new Home show and discovered lots of wonderful designers to feature. It was also lovely to see the founders of Heart Home magazine – Carole, Arianna and Daniel – who had a stand there. And it was great to bump into fellow bloggers and dbcollective members including Kate, Katie and Jo.
Wednesday
My current headshot which I use for Flowerona, Twitter and magazine articles is four years old and I’ve been thinking of updating it for about six months.
So I was delighted to hear that the very talented photographer, Vicki Knights was offering headshot sessions again this year.
On Wednesday morning, I woke up feeling a little apprehensive but excited at the same time. I needn’t have worried…Vicki is an absolute pro and made me feel SO at ease. I was blown away by an initial image that she tweeted later that day and have now received access to her online gallery to choose two.
At my freelance writing course that afternoon, we discussed topical news stories which had appeared in the press during the week. I need to come up with five ideas for articles to write because by the end of the course we have to have written a 1,200 word piece which we can hopefully sell. So, I’ll be putting my thinking cap on this weekend, but do let me know if you have any ideas…
After class, I popped into John Lewis on Oxford Street and visited the Jane Packer concession on the ground floor at the back of the store. Do pop in if you’re in the West End…they had some beautiful bouquets and plants on display.
Then to cap off Wednesday (a bit of a crazy day!), I went to the monthly dbcollective bloggers meeting. It was great to see everyone and discuss plans for 2012.
Thursday
On Thursday, my hubbie and I went to see the Cirque du Soleil’s Totem show at the Royal Albert Hall. It was absolutely spectacular! Do go, if you get chance.
