Next up in my series of Instagram for Florists online course Success Stories is Essex based florist Rachel Goodwin from The Petal Girl. Before we delve into her interview, let’s take a look at her wonderful Instagram transformation!
RACHEL’S TRANSFORMATION
Since Rachel started the course, she has gained over 780 followers, a 50% increase! I love her beautiful new Profile Photo and enhanced Highlight Cover Images in her brand colours. Check out her amended Bio too which explains the services The Petal Girl offers.

INTERVIEW WITH RACHEL
What prompted you to sign up for the course?
I had been using Instagram for a while. But I wanted to learn more about the app and how I could use it more effectively as a business tool. The course content looked informative. And I liked the way it was broken down into bite size manageable sections.
What did you enjoy most about the course?
There were many enjoyable sections but I most enjoyed using Canva to select brand colour palettes. Having these in place has assisted me in keeping my Instagram account looking more cohesive.

It’s now over 5 months since your first started the course, what has been the resulting impact on your Instagram account and your business?
I definitely feel my Instagram grid is now looking more cohesive and I am planning ahead more with my posts. Although external circumstances haven’t been ideal this year, I am happy with where my business is going and my future plans. The number of enquires I receive via Instagram has increased since completing the course.
What do you feel you’ve gained most from taking the course?
I would say I mostly gained insightful knowledge of Instagram and other apps which I can use as business tools. The course encouraged me to think about my profile, my grid, my target audience and my business as a whole.

Would you recommend the course to florists and others working the floristry industry?
The course was thoroughly inspiring, well organised and broken down into achievable modules. Rona was extremely supportive throughout. I would highly recommend to others.

I’m so delighted with Rachel from The Petal Girl’s transformation! If you’d like to head over to her Instagram account to see for yourself, simply click here.
