She graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, Scotland with a B des (HONS) Illustration & Printmaking.
And since then she’s worked in just about every medium available from metal, clay and recycled objects/packaging to photography and film. This journey took her full circle back to printmaking when she was offered a job in Dundee Contemporary Arts Print Studio eight years ago.
Today’s post features a few of her floral-inspired designs.
Claire very kindly answered a few questions for me:
How did you start your business?
I’m originally a printmaker and through my own practice coupled with gaining experience operating new equipment at the print studio I’m employed in, I came up with the modest invention of combining traditional printmaking techniques with modern laser technology to create decorative brooches, clocks and other wall art.
Where are you based?
I am based in North Fife, Scotland.
What are your plans for the remainder of 2011?
After participating in the Top Drawer trade fair this month, I have lots of orders to complete for the end of the year so if I can get through them, I will be happy.
Do you have a favourite flower?
My favourite flower is the lily because of the beautiful scent capable of filling the entire house…..
