Today’s post features a selection of stunning designs from the very talented illustrator and printmaker, Hannah McVicar.
Above is a print called Enchanted Herbs and below is Essence of Spring.
Back in 2004, Hannah graduated from Falmouth College of Art with a BA (Hons) degree in Illustration.
She then spent two years working for Abercrombie & Fitch in America as a textile designer, before returning to the UK to pursue her career in illustration.
Hannah’s floral designs are influenced by her childhood. She grew up on an organic herb farm and helped her parents at the RHS Flower Shows at Chelsea and Hampton Court.
She’s worked for such clients as The Times newspaper and Gardens Illustrated magazine, plus has attained the following commissions:
- Packaging design for a range of wildflower and grass seed mixes called Meadow Anywhere for Hillier Nurseries, in conjunction with Habitat Aid.
- Greeting cards, notebooks & wrapping paper for Smithson Gallery Design.
- Seed packet cover-mounts for Gardens Illustrated magazine.
When Hannah’s not working on commissions, she’s producing her colourful and vibrant collections of floral screenprints that she exhibits throughout the country.
Aren’t her designs lovely? You can find out more on Hannah’s website here.
