Lucy Vail from Lucy Vail Floristry is the mastermind behind the beautiful botanical adornment of the Bull Ring Gate at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year. The 6m tall archway is planted with over 3,500 British plants. It includes clematis, red valerian, foxgloves, alliums, bearded iris and many more varieties of meadowesque flowers.
The installation is sponsored by Annoushka Fine Jewellery. And it was created by Lucy and her team over three days of 21 hour shifts! The three wicker crowns, honouring The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, are modelled on the jeweller’s Crown Collection. And wooden urns, made by Joss Stoddart, frame the gate on either side.

Many congratulations to Lucy and her team! It was so lovely to meet you and your colleagues at the show on Press Day. You certainly have transported a little slice of the British countryside to the capital. And it’s wonderful to hear that after the show, all the plants will be replanted and reused for future projects.
