I hope you had a lovely weekend. Whilst I was compiling Flowerona Links on Saturday afternoon, I stumbled across these extraordinary photographs! And I couldn’t wait to share them with you. They’re the result of an an artistic collaboration, called Overgrowth, between photographer Parker Fitzgerald and floral designer Riley Messina, who are both based in Oregon.
On the Overgrowth website, it says: ‘Inspired by a pursuit of beauty, Riley combines classically thoughtful botanical designs with Parker’s carefully considered film images in an expression of the multifaceted relationship between humankind and nature. The two artists contrast anonymous portraiture with sweeping landscapes in an attempt to capture both the malleable and untamed aspects of the natural world.’
Feast your eyes on these wonderful images…
The photographs really are pure floral art, aren’t they? I particularly love the second and last picture…which I think is because they feature pretty, dainty flowers. The others are all still stunning and for me, some of them have an air of melancholy.
You can actually buy the prints from the Overgrowth website. If you’d like to keep up-to-date with news about the collaboration, there’s a Facebook page. And to find out more about Riley, simply pop over to the Erba Floral Studio website.
