Gardenia – a beautiful and highly fragrant plant

Isn’t it funny how a certain fragrance can bring back memories of a particular event or time?

For example, Anais Anais perfume reminds me of my first trip to Germany in the late 1980s, when I was on a student exchange.

The exotic fragrance of gardenia brings back memories of when I was working at a florist in London, where they’d ordered in lots of gardenia plants for a wedding.

Oh, how I wish I’d known about Wedding Flowers magazine when I was getting married!

It’s a publication available in the UK, providing floral inspiration for brides-to-be.  I would highly recommend buying it if you’re getting married and aren’t sure where to start when it comes to choosing your wedding flowers.

The magazine features pictures of gorgeous wedding bouquets, latest floral trends, articles on how to plan your wedding flowers, plus diary dates for wedding shows and flower courses.

I adore her beautiful watercolour paintings and I thought I’d share some of them with you, to brighten up your day.

Beautiful floral cards from STOP THE CLOCK Design

I always have a stash of cards at home, ranging from Birthday to Thank You cards.

Anemone – a cheerful flower to brighten up your day

Anemones hold a very special place in my heart. 

I remember my Dad growing them in our garden when I was a child and it was only recently that I found out why!  Apparently, my Mum had commented to him that he never bought her flowers.  So, he asked her what her favourite flower was…it’s the anemone.  And that’s why we had beautiful red and purple anemones growing in our garden back then….especially for Mum.
