Poinsettias seem to be everywhere at the moment here in the UK, don’t they? I bought a lovely mini white one when I was at Petersham Nurseries last week. Today’s blog post features images of poinsettias arranged in unusual and stylish ways at a recent exhibition in Warsaw. Florists and representatives of floristry schools in Poland created the designs using different varieties.
You’ll not only find red and white poinsettias, but they’re also available in pink. And there are two-tone and polka dot ones too, which you can see in my recent Christmas Plants report for New Covent Garden Flower Market. Poinsettias like a bright warm spot, but not direct sunlight. And it’s best to water them only when their compost is almost dry.
If you’d like to read more about them, do take a look at this special poinsettia website, which includes care tips and ideas of how to use them to decorate your home at Christmas.
P.S. This Thursday is International Poinsettia Day, when events will be taking place to celebrate this festive plant.
