For this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show coverage, I’ve focused primarily on the floristry elements of the show. But I thought I’d also feature a couple of the show gardens today, starting with The Cloudy Bay Garden.
Designed by 27-year-old Sam Ovens from Cornwall, the garden is inspired by Cloudy Bay’s 30-year wine-making heritage at their pioneering winery in Marlborough, New Zealand. The design explores the notion of escape, making it the perfect place to retreat to with a glass of wine in hand.
The layers of complexity that make up the signature Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc wines are alluded to throughout the garden which features a timber cabin, boardwalk and deck constructed from western red cedar timber.
Congratulations to Cloudy Bay and Sam on being awarded a Silver-Gilt medal. Sam is one of the youngest ever to receive this prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show medal accolade!
