Many congratulations to Cleve and also the landscape contractor Steve Swatton, who constructed the design.
Cleve created the garden for Brewin Dolphin, an investment management and financial planning company, who are celebrating their 250th anniversary.
What particularly appealed to me about the design was the fabulous planting scheme. And it was the splash of colour which the red poppies added to the garden which really caught my attention.
I also loved the beautifully intricate French iron gates which led onto an enormous well mounted on its side on the wall.
Other key components were yew topiary, beech hedges and warm stone paths which were complemented by the naturalistic planting.
Cleve intended the garden to be informal and timeless, contemporary yet traditional…and it really does fit the brief.
