Many congratulations to garden designer Matthew Childs!
He designed The Ecover Garden which was awarded a Gold Medal and voted Best in the Show Garden category at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.
The inspiration for his design is the fundamental principle that ‘water is life’.
And the garden highlights solutions which aid the recovery of aquatic environments against a backdrop of sustainability.
Here are some images, including close-ups of a few of the plants used…
I’m so pleased for Matthew. He also designed a garden for last year’s show and won the Best Conceptual Garden award.
And at the sell-off on the final day, I was lucky enough to buy some Erigeron karvinskianus (which also feature in this garden) and Alchemilla mollis plants which are now happily growing in our garden.
If you’d like to keep up-to-date with Matthew’s news, this week in particular, he’s on Twitter and Facebook. Plus he also has a blog.
