Utterly magical…is how I would describe florist Zita Elze’s shop in Kew, London. It’s such a wonderful place to visit at any time of the year, but particularly so at Christmas! And today, I’m thrilled to feature some beautiful photos of both inside and outside this very special place. I asked Zita to share her inspiration for this year’s festive designs :
“My inspiration came from the woodlands and winter’s bare trees and branches. I like to use real wood and found some branches covered in lichen and moss, making the most of their fine textures and soft colours. I love the winter light on those clear cold days and the way that any bright colour pops. This is also reflected in the decorations with some warm red notes with various berries and crabapples and lots of metallic shades. The shop has an enchanted rustic theme bringing nature inside.
We always decorate the area in front of the shop as well so it leads customers down a little path, this year lined in pine cones. And into the magic, I’ve added reds, greys, silvers and some gold. We had fun with the gold spray but otherwise everything is very natural with the metallics, including some red birds flying through the branches, and a touch of crystal adding sparkle. This year, I’ve included a vintage nativity scene in one of the windows and lots of wooden decorations.”

And here’s the very lovely lady herself! I adore the exquisite, intricate nature of Zita’s floral creations and I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing them too.
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year. See you in January!
