I hope you had a lovely long Easter weekend…
We stayed at home…chilled out in front of our fire, ate yummy chocolate eggs, went out for lunch with friends on Friday, went out to a lovely country pub on Easter Sunday and started packing up our kitchen as we’re having building work done.
I also squeezed in catching up on lots of emails, wrote my Flowerona newsletter and some blog posts too…
Today’s blog post features images of the stunning Yves Piaget rose.
I first heard of this rose when researching a blog post about The Real Flower Company. They have an amazing bouquet featuring them.
But it was only last Monday when I was at New Covent Garden Flower Market, that I saw them ‘in the flesh’.
Here’s a link to an image I took of them on flower wholesaler Dennis Edwards‘s stand. You can see how the flower heads are protected in little white nets for the journey from their grower.
Dennis is a huge fan of this particular rose because of its stunning fragrance. And he really made my day when he gave me some, so that I could appreciate them too, back at home.
Here are more images of the flowers once they’d opened up…
Aren’t they just so beautiful? They remind me of peonies, with their large heads and frilly petals.
If you’re wondering where they got their name from? It’s after Yves Piaget, the President of Piaget, the Swiss luxury watchmaker and jeweller.

I love these, too, Rona! Such an incredible color that changes in different light.
Have a great weekend!
Thank you Georgianna! Hope you have a wonderful weekend too x
