Being such a huge fan of flowers, I’m very naturally drawn to floral prints for homeware. I do try and control my addiction as much as I can though (!), so that our house doesn’t get too overrun with all things floral. Up until now, apart from the flower-inspired painting which appears in the background of my YouTube videos, I’ve managed to just about curb my obsession by having lots of floral patterned mugs.
But when I was approached recently by Soak&Sleep, I really couldn’t resist their invitation to try out their Vintage Floral Linen Bed Linen. I immediately fell for the dark blue rose illustrations on the natural linen. I’ll be honest though…I wasn’t quite sure how my husband was going to take to sleeping ‘beneath flowers’! Well, I was in for a very pleasant surprise, as he absolutely loves our new duvet set as much as I do.
As instructed on the packaging, I washed the bedding prior to using it. I also ironed it, but Soak&Sleep say that the beauty of their linen bedding is that it also looks great when crumpled. So, it’s really personal preference.
The biggest thing that struck me was that it really does add a wonderful touch of luxury to your bedroom. Made using 100% pure French linen, with mother-of-pearl buttons fastening the duvet cover, the fabric gets softer and softer with time and washing.
P.S. As well as the natural colour way, as shown in my photos, the bed linen is also available in coral.
