A little bit of a different blog post from me today…I’d like to tell you about what I got up to a few weekends ago. Kate Baxter and Daniel Nelson of October Communications invited me to a styling party at Another Country’s newly opened store in Marylebone in London, as part of their #anothersummer campaign. I was paired with writer and photographer Kate McAuley, who writes a blog called I am not a celebrity. Another Country sell a beautiful range of contemporary craft furniture and home accessories and it was our task to select items from the store to feature in a mini-shoot.
Prior to meeting, Kate and I had a Skype call, chatted about the theme for our session and decided upon ice cream, as we were still enjoying the Indian summer. With my flower knowledge and Kate’s food expertise, we were inspired by Kinfolk magazine’s flower cones. And after a tour of the Another Country store, we went shopping in nearby Marylebone High Street and bought pomegranates from The Natural Kitchen, chocolates from Rococo Chocolates and ice cream from a local shop. Then we visited Jane Packer in New Cavendish Street for beautiful blooms. We chose hydrangeas, sedum and roses in shades of pink. From Another Country’s shelves, we selected their Classic Cutlery, Cup and Dinner Plate. And here are our styled shots from the session…
We had a lovely morning creating the images. And it was such fun working with Kate and picking up lots of hints and tips on how to style photographs. Thank you so much to Another Country. If you’re looking for contemporary furniture or home accessories, do pop along to their store at 18 Crawford Street, Marylebone, London, W1H 1BT.
