Last month I was invited to attend a Summer Garden Party Class at the Interflora Flower School.
It was great to see them both again and I loved the selection of stunning summer blooms which they’d chosen for the arrangements.
David Ragg started off the class by demonstrating how to make a hand-tied bouquet using peonies, roses, hydrangeas, alchemilla mollis, hosta leaves, pittosporum and fountain grass.
Then the same David showed us how to make the table arrangement which we were all going to create using hydrangeas, larkspur, scabious, nigella and alchemilla mollis.
Here’s the one I made and it took pride of place at home. I absolutely loved the design…such beautiful colours and it felt like a little bit of the countryside in our kitchen.
David Denyer then showed us how to make a small table arrangement using hydrangeas, peonies, trachelium, hosta leaves, aspidistra leaves and fountain grass…which you can see below.
We all came away with lots of ideas of how to create summer floral arrangements and picked up hints and tips too…
So, if you’re interested in taking a floristry class or are looking for a gift for a flower lover, there are details of future classes on the Interflora Flower School website.
