Last month, I attended the College Day at New Covent Garden Flower Market in London.

It’s something which the market regularly runs and that particular day, it was attended by 550 floristry students and their tutors.

As part of the morning’s activities, there was a competition for teams of Level 3 and Level 4 students.

Their brief was to create a romantic heart hanging design for a woodland wedding using seasonal flowers and foliage, with a purchasing budget of £30.

Joint first places were awarded to teams from East Surrey College and Writtle College, whose floral hearts are shown respectively below:
