As it’s Chelsea week and I’ve still got lots of content to share with you today and tomorrow, there isn’t a Flowerona Links today, but it will be back next week. Cleve West‘s Gold medal winning show garden for M&G Investments was one of my very favourite gardens at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2014 – Judith Blacklock’s Floral Dress for Cleve West’s M&G Investments Show Garden
At Press Day at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show on Monday, in addition to all the wonderful floral dresses in the RHS Young Florist of the Year competition in the Great Pavilion, there was also a very special dress on Main Avenue. Worn by British model Nina Schubert, this design featuring 1,000 Vanda orchid heads, was made by florist Judith Blacklock. Judith also created the wonderful umbrella, decorated with leaves and orchid blooms. Nina was just about to step foot on to the M&G Investments Garden designed by Cleve West, when I captured her.… Read more
RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2013 – Zita Elze’s Floral Dress for Roger Platts’ M&G Investments Centenary Garden
I absolutely loved the floral dress which florist Zita Elze created for Roger Platts‘ M&G Investments Centenary Garden for Press Day.
Zita made the gown in the style of a dress from 1913 to commemorate the centenary theme of the M&G show garden.
At the time, dresses were layered with ruffles. So Zita recreated them with ferns on the neckline, and on the skirt, she used layers of bear grass.
Prior to the show, Zita went to Roger Platts’ nursery to see the plants which he planned to use, so that she could be inspired and get a ‘feel’ of the garden that he would create.… Read more
