Houseplant of the Month – The Regal Pelargonium
In this month’s Houseplant of the Month post, it’s the turn of the Regal Pelargonium, which is sometimes referred to as the sophisticated relative of the geranium family!
I’m sure many Flowerona readers are familiar with the Pelargonium, but the Regal Pelargonium is less well-known. It’s sometimes known as the Pelargonium grandiflorum and its large trumpet shaped flowers, give it its name grandiflorum.
A member of the Geraniaceae family, the Regal Pelargonium originates from South Africa. And the name Pelargonium originates from the Greek ‘pelargos’, which means stork and refers to the mouth of the seed pod.… Read more
