All for Love London have created a beautiful installation brimming with sweet peas. And it’s the final design that I’m featuring from this year’s British Flowers Week campaign. The company, run by Ruth Davis, is one of five florists exhibiting at the Garden Museum in London. And today is the last day that all the designs will be on display.

Sweet peas…. Aren’t they such wonderful flowers? Dainty. Flouncy. Ethereal. Frilly. Delicate. All words I’d use to describe them…and let’s not forget their exquisite scent!

Generally available in the Northern hemisphere from February through to September, you’ll find them in a multitude of gorgeous colours, from white, lilac and purple to cream, apricot, salmon, pink and red. Their botanical name Lathyrus odoratus means ‘fragrant peas’ and according to florist Shane Connolly’s book, ‘Discovering the Meaning of Flowers‘, they symbolise Pure and Delicate Pleasures.… Read more

I love their instant recognisability and their ‘tremblant’ nature. They move when you walk holding them.
