Providing a very welcome burst of colour indoors at this time of year is the Cyclamen. And it’s November’s Houseplant of the Month. This popular winter-flowering plant is a member of the primrose family (Primulaceae) and the particular species that has achieved houseplant status is Cyclamen persicum.
Small, medium and large flowered cultivars are available with flowers ranging in colour from scarlet through to pink, lilac, white and bi-coloured. The petals can be smooth and twisted or may have frilly edges.… Read more

Earlier this month, I went to an event at The Four Seasons Hotel in Park Lane in London organised by The Flower Council of Holland. There, I met up with Ian Drummond of Indoor Garden Design. Ian had decked out the spa with houseplants ranging from Christmas cactuses and chrysanthemums to kentia palms and orchids.
