Isn’t it a small world? Ten years ago, I started working as a Saturday girl in The White Orchid, a florist shop in Esher. Now based in Weybridge, it was the venue for the first leg of Selina Lake’s Outdoor Living Book Tour, which started last weekend. I went along on Saturday afternoon and had such a lovely time, making a flower pom-pom in a workshop led by Selina and catching up with Nicole. Back in 2005, I started as a Saturday girl in Nicole’s shop when she was based in Esher.
I learnt SO much from her, from spiralling my hand-tieds the opposite way to convention, to combining colours and textures, and recognising the benefit of having certain processes for tasks, which had to be repeated on a regular basis. … Read more
