If you’re wondering what the Hottest Floral Trends are for 2019, then you’re in for a real treat today! Not only have I compiled a round-up of flowers which are in favour, but foliage, plants and sundries too.
BACKGROUND
For the last six years, I’ve been working freelance for New Covent Garden Market in London. Recently I asked the traders what sold well last year. And what they feel will be popular over the coming 12 months. The result of my many conversations can be found in my report on the Flower Market website. However read on to discover some of the key trends…
KEY TRENDS
British Flowers
The demand for British blooms with their ‘meadowesque’ look is increasing year on year. And with the continuing trend for the ‘just-picked-from-the-garden style, they’re the perfect floral ingredient!
Dried Flowers & Foliage
Dried Rodanthe and roses, plus pampas grass are highly sought after. London florist Grace & Thorn even has a dried flowers wedding collection called ‘Some Things Do Last Forever’.
Houseplants
There’s absolutely no stopping the rising interest in indoor plants. Greenery in your home, bringing a touch of nature inside, is a must-have, especially for mid-20 to late-30 year olds. Also joining in this revival are retail outlets, with & other Stories being a great example.
Retro Vibe
Geometric style glass vases in pale pink hues and white ceramic hexagonal column vases are all the rage. Plus bamboo planters are very in vogue.
STAY UP-TO-DATE

P.S. I’m sure that Instagram has aided the popularity of many of these trends. For example, the unfaltering adoration for beautifully blousy peonies. In fact, the #peonies hashtag is incredibly approaching 2 million!
