I’d been to one of Sabine’s courses before so I knew that I was going to be in for a treat. But this time, she’d really excelled herself! The amazing selection of breath-taking flowers, gorgeous venue and its idyllic rural setting really blew me away. It was floral heaven!
Florists from as far afield as South Africa, Italy and all over the UK travelled to Holbrook House in Somerset, where the 3 day residential course took place. Each day, the delegates created floral designs for three different wedding styles – Rustic, Elegant and Luxe. And then their designs were professionally shot by the very talented Katie (who beautifully photographs our workshops for florists).
I attended Day 2, but here’s a look at all three days.
Day 1 – Rustic : Creating relaxed informal atmospheres using wild and organic elements.
Outside, in the grounds of Holbrook House, the florists created a rustic canopy, natural table setting and chair decor. And here’s the wonderful Sabine, styling the table. I love the hanging glass lanterns…
They also created this breath-taking rustic arch. Aren’t the peonies just absolutely stunning?! And I adore the colour combination of coral, orange, red, blue and green.
During Day 1, the florists also made a bridal bouquet.
And here are the students and Sabine with their finished designs.
They also made beautiful floral crowns!
Day 2 – Elegant : Classically and timelessly romantic, using the best summer flowers.
This is the day I attended and I watched as Sabine demoed and then the florists created a traditional shower bouquet, with trailing ribbons.
How incredibly stunning is this bouquet above?!! Here we all are below, chilling after lunch…
In the afternoon, the florists created a candelabra centrepiece and a floral pomander.
Then later that day, they made an urn arrangement.
Day 3 – Luxe : Extravagant and glamorous, with a high volume flower content.
The students created this amazing large scale table design, using purple stocks.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s ‘behind the scenes’ look at Sabine and Katie’s sensational course. They’re holding the next one this autumn:
