On Saturday, I went to a Wedding Showcase at the Shangri-La Hotel at The Shard. And this week’s Wedding Wednesday post is filled with my photos of the beautiful floral designs, which had been created by florist Laura Kuy and her team.
It was my first visit to The Shard and I was in awe of the spectacular views over London. Taking the fastest lift I’ve ever been in (!) to the 35th floor, I then made my way to the venue on level 34, where weddings, civil ceremonies and receptions are held.
A stunning floral table runner featuring ivory, blush, pale lilac and pink roses, plus white hydrangeas, white Phalaenopsis orchids and eucalyptus foliage took centre stage beneath the vast chandelier.
There was also a wonderful floral arch with similar flowers at the bottom of the grand staircase.
On a nearby small round table, a lovely tablecentre had been created.
Laura and her team had also created two elegant bridal bouquets. This first one included pastel roses, pittosporum and rosemary…
…whilst ranunculus, astrantia, roses, lilac, pittosporum and eucalyptus featured in this design.
Planted orchids adorned with hanging crystals were complemented with vases of domes of ivory roses.
And two pedestal designs in pastel shades created impact at each end of the room.
Unfortunately, the weather on Saturday was a little overcast (!), but you can get a good idea below of the kind of view of the River Thames which you can see from level 34.
A separate smaller room had been set up for a ceremony with a variety of different floral designs in red, deep pink and cerise, with gold accents.
So, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading today’s blog post. If you’re planning your big day and would like to find out more details about the Shangri-La Hotel, simply click here for their Wedding Brochure.
